MediaTek Dimensity 8050
Meet the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset. This 7nm octa-core chip brings MediaTek’s potent mix of Arm Cortex-A78 and A55 cores to the midrange level, clocked at up to 3GHz which is a decent punch. With the 9-core Mali G77 GPU the chipset promises solid gaming performance too.
Early benchmarks show the Dimensity 8050 edging out the Snapdragon 720G in tests while using less power. For everyday usage, 5G connectivity, and casual gaming the chips looks like a great option.
Pricing wise, I expect phones with the Dimensity 8050 to cost around 25-50% less than MediaTek’s pricier flagship Dimensity 9000 models. More performance for the price is always good though.
With its competitive specs and cost, the Dimensity 8050 makes high-end features more accessible. Excited to see MediaTek shake up the mid-range Android market in 2023!
