TECNO Teams Up With Dolby to Add Dolby Atmos to POVA 6 Smartphones

TECNO Teams Up With Dolby. China’s premier smartphone brand, TECNO, has announced a major collaboration with Dolby Laboratories to incorporate Dolby Atmos technology across its future POVA portfolio. The first model featuring Dolby’s cinematic audio, the POVA 6 Pro 5G, will debut at MWC 2024.

For the unaware, Dolby Atmos is an object-based surround sound format employed in theaters and home entertainment systems. It introduces immersive, three-dimensional audio by allowing sounds to emit from all directions, even above the listener.

According to TECNO GM Jack Guo, “Our goal is to improve user experience. Adding Dolby Atmos to our phones is a big step in bringing high-quality audio to our global users.”

Javier Foncillas, VP of Commercial Partnerships at Dolby, also commented, “We’re happy to bring Dolby Atmos to more people through TECNO’s phones. This tech is not just for fancy audio – it makes the sound of all music, games, and videos better.”

As revealed, the first TECNO phone to showcase the Dolby Atmos advantage will be the POVA 6 Pro 5G, launching at February’s MWC 2024. TECNO is targeting young consumers with the POVA series, so elevating entertainment through cinematic audio should significantly boost gaming and multimedia enjoyment.

After the POVA 6 range, future TECNO CAMON smartphones for creatives and the premium PHANTOM line aimed at executives will also adopt Dolby’s surround sound format.

This commitment to delivering first-rate entertainment experiences across portfolio categories aligns with TECNO’s brand mission of giving users innovation and exceptional value within respective price bands.

With Dolby Atmos lending more realism and depth to audio, TECNO device owners can expect greater immersion while playing action-packed mobile games or watching the latest blockbusters. It’s a major leap forward in smartphone entertainment tech.

MWC 2024 should give us the first taste of this promising partnership between TECNO and Dolby, with the POVA 6 Pro 5G leading the charge later this month.
