Huawei Mate 70 Series Tipped to Launch September 2024

Huawei Mate 70 Series Tipped. Huawei appears to be on track to unveil its next-gen Mate 70 flagship phone lineup around September 2024 if the latest insider leaks hold.

Prolific Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu took to Weibo, claiming Huawei is targeting a September 2024 timeframe to announce the Mate 70 series in China. This would align with the release schedule of the preceding Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro, and Mate 60 RS models.

The leaker further states the Mate 70 range, likely comprising vanilla, Pro, and Pro+ variants, will be “stronger” than Apple’s upcoming 2024 iPhone 16 series. So Huawei is setting its sights on competing with or exceeding Apple’s expected technical specifications.

Smart Pikachu also hints that Huawei has a mystery device in development housing a large 1-inch camera sensor. This could refer to a special edition Mate model or maybe the rumoured P70 is designed for photography enthusiasts.

To recap, current rumors point to the P70 also featuring a curved 1.5K 6.7” OLED display with quad curves. A high-resolution main Sony IMX989 sensor is expected, too, so pairing that with a 1” auxiliary snapper would produce extremely detailed photos.

As for Mate 70 details, little is known presently. But we can expect cutting-edge chipsets like the rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, rapid charging tech, advanced camera systems, and stylish designs in line with previous Mate releases when September 2024 rolls around.

By pre-empting Apple’s next iPhone launch, Huawei’s Mate series could gain extra exposure and consumer interest when details eventually emerge closer to its rumored announcement. The company will surely pull out all the stops to make the Mate 70 a worthy rival to Apple and Android flagships.
