Realme 12 Pro+ Confirmed to Have Sony IMX890 Camera
As per official confirmation, the Realme 12 Pro+ will feature Sony’s flagship IMX890 image sensor for the main camera. The IMX890 is a large 1-inch type sensor seen on phones like Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Vivo X90 Pro+. So, the 12 Pro+ marks its debut in the sub-flagship space.
Realme 12 Pro Gets New Sony IMX882 Camera Sensor
Interestingly, the vanilla Realme 12 Pro will boast an all-new Sony IMX882 sensor for its primary camera instead of the IMX890. Specific details regarding the IMX882 are scarce right now, but reports mention it is similar to the LYT-600 sensor on Oppo Reno 11 5G and Vivo S18e.
Both the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ will also feature a 64MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera on the 12 Pro and a higher-res 32MP sensor on the 12 Pro+ model.
Under the hood, the Realme 12 Pro will utilize MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 chip, while the 12 Pro+ will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 processor based on the 4nm process for improved efficiency. Stay tuned for the India launch details.
