Here is how you share data on MTN line from your existing data balance.

  1. On your phone dial *131# send, pop-up option will follow
  2. Select option 7 and send, pop-up options will follow
  3. Select option 1 then send to continue
  4. Input recipient number then send to continue
  5. Select option 1,2, or 3 depending on the amount of gigabytes you want to share.
  6. Then click on proceed to complete the sharing process.

Method two on how to share data on MTN using USSD

  • Dial *131* followed by the receiver number * follow by the amount of data you want to share, the #. Eg – *131*08065868686*1000#

How to share data on MTN using SMS

Through SMS one can also share data on MTN, to do this you will have to visit your SMS app on your mobile phone, then put in 131 as the sms receiver, then put in the data receiver number and the data amount as the sms body. Eg text (Receiver Number) 08065868686, (Data amount) 1GB to 131

How to share data on MTN using myMTN app.

You can also share data on MTN using the myMTN app, the myMTN app is available on both Android and iOS and can be downloaded from MTN official website or app store.

Here is how to share data on MTN using App

  1. Download the myMTN app and launch it to continue
  2. Click on the buddle option
  3. Click on share data option
  4. Click on the amount of data you want to share
  5. Input the number you want to share data to
  6. Click on proceeds
  7. Confirm the number you are sharing to and click on OK.

How to Buy Data For A Friend On MTN

With MTN you can now buy data for a friend from your end. How to do so?

To buy data for a loved one using MTN, dial *131*7*2# then follow the prompt.

Note that with this method the amount of data you buy will be charged from your airtime.

How to Request Data From A Friend on MTN

Aside of sharing data on MTN with a friend, buying data for a friend on MTN, you can request data from a friend on MTN.

How do you do so?

To request data from a friend on MTN

  1. dial *131*7*3# send to continue
  2. Input the number you want to request data from then click on send. With this you are done.

All method mention above is available to all MTN users and are all free of charge to carry out. All method can be used to transfer or buy data buddle for routers, other smartphone and tablets. Also the maximum amount of data you can transfer on a daily basis is 1GB.
