Smartphone maker iQOO just announced two new phone models in China: the Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro. As the next versions of last year’s Neo 8 series, these phones aim to deliver premium features at more affordable prices.
The most eye-catching aspects are the fast 144Hz displays and ultra-fast 120W charging speeds. Both phones have 6.78-inch OLED screens with a sharp 1.5K resolution and HDR10+ for vivid colors and contrast. The 144Hz refresh rate enables smoother scrolling and gameplay.
Recharging the large 5,160mAh batteries from zero to 50% takes just 8 minutes with the blazing 120W wired charging. Both phones also support 50W wireless charging.
In terms of performance, the Neo 9 uses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, while the Neo 9 Pro has MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9300 processor. These are paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, depending on the model. An advanced cooling system keeps things running smoothly during intensive use.
For photography, there is a 50MP main camera with optical stabilization plus an 8MP or 50MP ultra-wide camera on the Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro, respectively. The front camera is 16MP. Video recording goes up to 8K resolution.
Other useful features include dual speakers, an IR blaster to control devices, Wi-Fi 7 for fast connections, and the latest OriginOS 4 interface based on Android 14.
The iQOO Neo 9 starts at around $320 for a 12/256GB model. The Neo 9 Pro starts at $420 for a 12/256GB version. Multiple configurations are offered for both models, going up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. Color options include black, white, blue and red.
