The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a smartphone phablet based on Android that was conceived, developed, manufactured, and sold by Samsung Electronics. It was introduced on August 23, 2017, as the successor to the discontinued Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

The Note 8 improves on previous devices’ main device characteristics and signature S Pen functionalities. While it retains the same overall appearance and approximate size as the Galaxy S8+, it has an upgraded processor and, for the first time in Samsung’s smartphone history, a dual-camera system on the back of the device; one functions as a wide-angle lens and the other as a telephoto lens, both with 12 MP resolution and optical image stabilisation.

The pressure sensitivity of the S Pen has been raised, and the software has been updated to provide improved note taking capabilities on the always-on display, as well as animated GIF and improved translation tools.
