Vivo Y03 Budget Phone Inches Closer to Launch with Singapore and China Certifications

Vivo’s upcoming affordable smartphone, the Vivo Y03, continues its trajectory toward an official launch by securing key regulatory approvals. The phone recently obtained Bluetooth SIG certification and has now been certified by Singapore’s IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) and China’s CQC (China Quality Certification Center).

Vivo Y03 Certifications Hint at Imminent Launch

The IMDA listing reveals the Vivo Y03’s model number – V2332 – and confirmation of standard Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. Meanwhile, the CQC certification indicates 15W charging support for the phone. With these key approvals secured, the path toward launch for the Vivo Y03 in China and global markets, including Singapore, has been paved.

While detailed specifications remain unpublished, the Bluetooth SIG certification points to Bluetooth 5.0 support. So far, those tidbits represent the only official information available regarding the Vivo Y03’s hardware.

Vivo Y03 Expected to Upgradepredecessor’s Modest Specs

The Vivo Y03 will succeed the Vivo Y02 launched in 2023. As an affordable, entry-level smartphone, the Y02 sported modest specifications to meet everyday usage needs. This included a 6.51-inch IPS LCD HD+ display, MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, up to 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, an 8MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging over a dated micro USB port.

We expect Vivo to upgrade key areas like the processor and charging speed while retaining the large battery capacity with the Y03 phone. More details should surface soon as the launch nears for Vivo’s latest attempt at making modern smartphone functionality accessible to budget-conscious buyers.

Conclusion

With Singapore and China certification now achieved, the Vivo Y03 looks on track for unveiling and availability in the two markets in the coming weeks. We’ll be keeping an eye on any further information regarding the specifications, pricing, and launch timeline of Vivo’s latest affordable smartphone contender.
