Xiaomi 15 Series Tipped to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 & 1.5K Display

Xiaomi 15 Series Tipped. With Xiaomi’s next major flagship phone release still months away, leaked details surrounding the Xiaomi 15 lineup have begun trickling out. The latest claims potential specifications like a cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor and sharp 1.5K display resolution.

Prolific Chinese leaker Smart Pikachu recently took to Weibo, revealing more about what Xiaomi has in store for its 2024 premium handsets. Toplining the specs list is the mention of the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which lines up with the previous scuttlebutt.

Xiaomi 15 key specs

The newest Snapdragon 8 series silicon (expected to be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4) should bring performance and efficiency enhancements over 2023’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powering the Xiaomi 14 line.

Additionally, Smart Pikachu tips the Xiaomi 15 will adopt a 6.36-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate support along with a crisper 1.5K resolution.

To review, esteemed leaker Digital Chat Station in December claimed the Xiaomi 15 panel would measure 6.36″ diagonally, so Smart Pikachu’s specifications corroborate that and add further display details.

In terms of the launch target, Xiaomi insider WHYLAB stated in January that production for Xiaomi 15 series hardware could commence by September 2024. This signals an October/November announcement window similar to the Xiaomi 14 series’ October 2023 Chinese debut last year.

Of course, plans can still change in the meantime. Still, the early specs leaks paint a compelling picture of what Xiaomi engineers are seemingly working on for their 2024 handset lineup – next-gen horsepower via Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, fluid visuals through a high refresh rate, a 1.5K OLED screen, and more.

While months away from release, enthusiasts eager for a sneak peek at potential Xiaomi 15 features can take solace in leaks already materializing this early in 2024. As always, however, take the rumors with some skepticism until official details emerge closer to launch.
