Additionally, several improvements are on board for enhancing stability and battery life during daily usage. OnePlus mentioned the update fixes an issue where swipe gestures occasionally fail to work on some devices. They also removed the rarely used Background Stream option in the Smart Sidebar.

Full OxygenOS 14 Changelog Highlights

Here are the key changes introduced in OxygenOS 14.0.0.212 for the Indian OnePlus 9 series and 9RT as per official release notes:

  • January 2024 security patch
  • Improved system stability and performance
  • Extended battery life
  • Fixed swipe gesture responsiveness
  • Removed Smart Sidebar’s Background Stream
  • Enhanced mobile network and WiFi connection stability
  • Improved Camera app stability

By updating to the latest firmware, OnePlus 9 owners can expect smoother day-to-day operations courtesy of under-the-hood optimizations. The battery life improvements should also translate into longer endurance when gaming, browsing, and using the camera.

As usual, with incremental updates, a phased rollout is underway, with a small percentage of users receiving it initially before a wider expansion. Users can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > System > System Updates.

For Indian owners of the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, and 9RT awaiting the Android 14 update, this latest security patch bundled with other enhancements should tide them over until the OxygenOS 14 stable release arrives. Those facing issues can provide feedback directly to OnePlus via the Community forums or built-in reporting tool.
