Qualcomm just revealed its newest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset for mobile gadgets. This chip falls in between the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is built on TSMC’s 4nm technology and it is equipped with a 1+3+4 CPU setup and a Kryo CPU that maxed at 2.63GHz main core, 3 performance cores at 2.4GHz, and 4 efficiency cores at 1.8GHz.
According to Qualcomm, this chip flaunts a 15% boost in CPU power and a 50% speedier Adreno GPU compared to last year’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Oh, and they also claim that the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is 20% more power-efficient.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 brings Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, promising a 60% faster AI performance per watt compared to the old SD 7 Gen 1. Plus, the Adreno GPU has your back, supporting OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan 1.3 APIs.
Wait, there’s more! This new Qualcomm marvel supports up to 4K resolution displays at 60Hz or FHD+ resolution at a smooth 168Hz. And it’s Spectra ISP is ready to handle up to 200MP main camera modules and capture stunning 4K HDR video at 60Hz.
For connectivity, the Snapdragon X63 5G Modem-RF System is paired with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 for faster download speed, promising up to 5 Gbps, whether you’re riding the mmWave or cruising the sub-6 GHz bands. It also Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 standards.
