Realme 12 Pro Goes Official with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Chip, Telephoto Lens

Realme 12 Pro Goes Official with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Chip. Expanding its number series, Realme has unveiled the Realme 12 Pro as a more affordable alternative to the higher-end Realme 12 Pro+ that was announced alongside it. The Pro model brings some downgraded specs but retains the same sleek design and capable camera setup of its pricier sibling.

Design and Display

The Realme 12 Pro features a premium glass back with the brand’s signature faux leather style finish, offered in classic Submarine Blue and Navigator Beige colorways. It measures 8.75mm in thickness and weighs about 190g.

A 6.7-inch curved OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a centered punch-hole housing the 16MP selfie camera dominates the front. It supports up to 950 nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming.

Performance and Software

At the helm is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 silicon based on a 6nm production process. The chip delivers faster CPU and GPU performance versus the previous-gen Snapdragon 695 for snappy day-to-day usage. On the software front, the phone ships with Realme UI 5.0 out of the box, which includes Android 13 underneath.

Photography is covered by a triple camera setup featuring a 50MP primary sensor with Sony’s proven IMX766 imaging tech and OIS. It’s joined by a 32MP 2x telephoto lens with OIS for portraits and closeups. Rounding up the trio is an 8MP ultrawide snapper.

Power and Pricing

Providing ample juice is a large 5,000mAh battery supporting 67W Dart fast charging. 15 minutes plugged in can deliver a 50% charge, according to Realme.

In India, the Realme 12 Pro is priced at:

8GB/128GB: Rs. 25,999 (~$315)
8GB/256GB: Rs. 26,999 (~$325)

Early access sales kick off at 6 PM IST today via Realme’s website. Open sales begin February 6 across online and offline channels.
