Realme Unveils 12 Pro Plus with Periscope Lens, Curved Display at Rs. 29,999

Realme Unveils 12 Pro Plus. Realme has officially introduced its latest number series smartphones, the Realme 12 Pro and higher-end Realme 12 Pro+ models. The Pro+ variant stands out as the most affordable phone yet, with a periscope camera and high-end primary sensor.

Design and Display

The Realme 12 Pro+ features a premium glass back with Realme’s signature faux leather finish in Submariner Blue, Navigator Beige, and Explorer Red colors. It measures 8.75mm thick and weighs approximately 196g.

Up front is a curved 6.67-inch 10-bit OLED panel with FHD+ resolution. It supports up to 950 nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 2160Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain. A centered punch-hole houses the 32MP selfie camera.

Performance and Software

Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset, promising faster CPU and GPU speeds plus improved AI capabilities over its predecessor. It comes equipped with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The Realme 12 Pro Plus runs the company’s Android 13-based Realme UI 5.0 software out of the box. The user interface and performance are both slick and responsive.

Cameras

But the highlights are undoubtedly the Pro+ model’s cameras, headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor with OIS that should deliver excellent detail and low-light shots.

It’s paired with a 64MP periscope camera featuring a 36x zoom range thanks to its folded optics design. There’s also an 8MP ultrawide snapper and 32MP selfie camera within the punch-hole notch.

Battery and Pricing

Keeping the lights on is a large 5,000mAh battery supporting 67W Dart Charge fast charging. 15 minutes of charging is claimed to deliver up to 50% capacity.

8GB/128GB: Rs. 29,999 (~$360)

8GB/256GB: Rs. 31,999 (~$385)

12GB/256GB: Rs. 33,999 (~$410)

First sales kick off February 6 at 12 PM IST online and across retail outlets.
