Xiaomi 14 Ultra Massive Camera System Detailed Before Launch

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Massive Camera System Detailed Before Launch. Xiaomi is gearing up to launch another flagship smartphone – the Xiaomi 14 Ultra – in the coming months. Ahead of the official debut, key details regarding the handset’s camera system have now been revealed by a tipster. It gives us an early glimpse into what could be the most advanced camera setup seen yet on a Xiaomi phone.

As per the leak, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will feature a massive circular camera bump on the rear panel to house its quad camera array. More interestingly, the primary snapper is said to employ a large VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.63-2.5/12-120 aspherical lens with a variable aperture of f/1.63 to f/2.5.

This 50MP primary camera will utilize Sony’s latest IMX989YW sensor that measures 1 inch in size – the LYT-900. The same sensor is also found on the likes of Honor Magic 4 Ultimate and ZTE Axon 40 Ultra. In ideal lighting conditions, the sensor size and lens setup should allow the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to capture outstanding details and dynamic range.

Complementing the main 50MP camera will be a 48MP periscope lens capable of 5x optical zoom, as per previous reports. This telephoto camera will be paired with a 120mm periscope lens for further reach. An ultra-wide camera and macro shooter are also expected to be part of the rear quad camera array.

An image render of the phone shared by ZionsAnvin also gives us the first glimpse of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s unique circular camera island design. It features prominently on the top left corner and has cutouts for four sensors and an LED flash.

While Xiaomi is yet to tease or reveal a launch date officially, rumors point to a Q3 2024 unveiling in China. The premium flagship will succeed the Mi 11 Ultra from 2021 and compete against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. If the rumored camera specs shape up to be true, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could be a revolution for smartphone cameras.
