Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 Price And Availability. Samsung has announced the pricing and availability details for its latest rugged tablet, the Galaxy Tab Active 5. Designed for industrial use cases, the Tab Active 5 features a durable design and a removable battery. Samsung is marketing it towards enterprises needing devices that can withstand harsh working environments.

Pricing and Availability

The WiFi-only model of the Galaxy Tab Active 5 with 64GB storage will retail for $499.99. There will also be a 128GB storage option likely priced at $549.99. 

For those needing cellular connectivity, the LTE version with 64GB storage starts at $548.99. A 128GB model should also be available at $599.99.

For 5G connectivity, pricing is still unclear but expected to range between $600-700 for the 64GB base version. 

Volume buyers can purchase through Samsung’s enterprise sales channels, where bulk pricing may be negotiated.

The Galaxy Tab Active 5 will hit store shelves in the United States before the end of March 2024. Specific release dates will likely be announced closer to launch.

Rugged Design

Living up to its name, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 features a rugged design built to military specifications. Samsung claims it passes over a dozen MIL-STD 810H certification tests for durability.

The tablet has a sturdy yet lightweight build and includes a protective cover to absorb shock from drops up to 4 feet. It also carries an IP68 rating making it dustproof and waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. On the front is an 8-inch 1080p LCD made of Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch resistance.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 is powered by a mid-range Exynos 1380 processor based on an 8nm manufacturing process. This is paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM plus 64GB or 128GB internal storage. Storage can be expanded via microSD up to an additional 1TB.

For photography, there is a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Video recording maxes out at 1080p 30 fps. 

The tablet runs Android 12 OS out of the box with Samsung’s One UI customisations. Biometric authentication is through a side mounted fingerprint reader.

With its 5050mAh replaceable battery, Samsung claims up to 14 hours of video playback. 18W fast charging allows a 50% charge in under an hour.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB-C port, and optional 4G LTE or 5G cellular data.
